“The swan, with arched neck
Between her white wings mantling proudly, rows
Her state with oary feet.”
John Milton, Paradise Lost (1667; 1674) – Book VII, Line 438
This magnificent swan peacefully swam toward me on an inland lake in Kauai in May 2008, and I had the high privilege of capturing its regal swim on this perfect lake with my trusty camera, only because I was at the right place at the right time. Notice the lovely reflection of the swan in the water, too. I’m not sure I’ve ever witnessed such a perfect sight, something like a small white angel drifting across the water ever so gracefully.
Nature at its finest. What a beautiful site… one that I still hold in my fondest memories even today.
